This book is, as suggested by the title, a focus primarily on what had relevance to the governing of Malta in the first thirteen years of the British connection. It is about governance, and the focus therefore is on what the systems of administration were, and what led to their being what they were. “Essays on Governing Malta” also includes principal players who were the ‘movers’ in administering this governance, just as it is, as well, about those who sought to have systems changed for subjective or objective reasons.
