Miller Newsprint, with The Sunday Times of London, won the Digitally Printed Newspaper of The Year 2013 award at the prestigious Newspaper Awards held at the London Hilton on Wednesday 24th April. The Sunday Times and its sister company Newsprinters won a further 4 awards including News Photograph of the year with John Cantle ‘s harrowing photograph of a young Somalian refugee suffering from cholera and malnutrition.

This is the second time that Miller Newsprint and The Sunday Times have jointly won an award following a similar success in 2011.

Malcolm Miller, CEO of Miller Newsprint said “I am so happy we have managed to win this award which was open to all newspapers and printers around the world. It is a credit to our Malta team who have been innovators in using this technology. We now feed various other sites in Europe we are involved in with file processing every night making Malta a hub of international digital newspaper printing – over 70 different newspaper titles from around the world are now processed in Malta and ‘re-exported’ within minutes every day of the year. Our sites in Cyprus with The Times of London and Tenerife with The Daily Telegraph also got strong recognition being commended submissions – so all round it was a great evening and my thanks go out to our dedicated teams who made this possible.”
