Miller Newsprint has been awarded the “Digitally Printed Newspaper of The Year” 2014 award for its production of The Daily Telegraph in Malta. The award was announced at the prestigious UK Press Awards held at the London Hilton on Tuesday 1st April 2014.

This is the third time that Miller Newsprint has won such an award following similar successes in 2011 and 2013 for The Sunday Times in the same category.

Digital newspaper printing, although still in its infancy, continues to grow in importance as publishers seek to reduce freight costs and publish early same day in remote locations around the world.

‘’Another win for Kodak and another win for Malta which was our first digital site. We are so happy for all our team and the strong bond that has developed with Kodak in newspaper digital printing. More than 70 local and international titles are now printed in our 4 sites in Europe and we look forward to growing the estate – and winning more accolades with Kodak in the coming years. I am also proud that our Malta operation has become the hub of file data processing for our other sites making it a centre in this new aspect of remote newspaper publishing ’’ said Malcolm Miller, CEO of Miller Newsprint.
